MLRemote Installation

The Canary Systems team braved the elements with a recent installation of the MLRemote® in northern Ontario. With frigid temperatures and snow amid the Canadian winter, the MLRemote was put to the ultimate test.

The MLRemote is a low-powered, programmable wireless datalogging system intended for outdoor use. The enclosure is designed with a sealed, hardened aluminum, IP65 NEMA 4Xa rating, allowing the unit to be installed in the most demanding environments.

In addition to a simple installation process, the MLRemote can be placed in a variety of remote locations for long-term monitoring applications. The unit will transmit data to the base station, making the information readily available for viewing on the integrated browser-based data visualization platform, MLWeb®.

After installing the MLRemote at the Ontario work site, the signal of the unit was so strong, it was able to broadcast to the base station almost 1.5km away, without the installation of the antenna. For even further range, a high-performance spectrum radio is available to use in 900MHz or 2.4GHz frequencies, and a range of up to 100km (60 miles) is possible with use of gain antennas and excellent topography, allowing users to remotely gather data with ease.
